Return on InvestmentAt Salt Lake Community College, we invest in our communities by educating the individuals within it - and the investment is paying off. Every year, more than 60,000 individuals come to SLCC for credit and non-credit learning experiences. More than half of full-time students enroll as a stepping stone to a four-year institution. College data indicates that the majority of SLCC students stay in Utah to continue their education or enter the workforce. In fact at least 6,500 students - and often many more - are simultaneously enrolled at SLCC and the University of Utah. The majority of students who immediately enter (or re-enter) the job market upon completion also opt to stay in-state. The bottom line is that SLCC produces great numbers of qualified employees for Utah's workforce, and ultimately, tax-payers in Utah's economy. As our enrollments, graduations and transfers continue to rise, SLCC's impact continues to grow. Thanks to our dedicated faculty, staff and administrators, we've kept costs down even as we have absorbed thousands of new students, added needed programs, built a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and improved student services. In higher education, a comprehensive community college like SLCC provides real "bang for the buck" for students, employers, their communities and states. Working in cooperation with high schools on one end and the state's four-year and research universities on the other, SLCC provides critical services to students that allow these partner institutions to focus on their unique missions by fulfilling ours. |
