President and Dean's List

Become a President's or Dean's List Recipient!

Salt Lake Community College has two awards to recognize students for their efforts. They are the President and Dean’s List. Every year the Academic and Career Advising Department in charge of the planning with the collaboration of the college community, an annual event to publicly recognize students that have shown outstanding academic performance in a semester. The event is called The President and Dean’s List Reception.

What is the President’s List?

The President’s List is recognition for students that meet the following requirements:

• Complete 15 credit hours or more during a semester and 
• Achieve a 3.8 or higher semester Grade Point Average (GPA)

What is the Dean’s List?

The Dean’s List is recognition for students that meet the following requirements:

• Complete 15 credit hours or more during a semester and 
• Achieve between 3.5 and 3.79 semester Grade Point Average (GPA)

NOTE: Recognition certificates are mailed each semester to students who achieve the President and Dean's Lists

What Does It Mean To Graduate with Honors?

High Honors

Students who complete coursework with a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.8 or above will be awarded High Honors at graduation.

Honors

Students who complete coursework with a cumulative Grade Point Average between 3.5 and 3.79 will be awarded Honors at graduation.

NOTE: If you are graduating with honors, you are usually invited to wear the honor's cord with your graduation gown at the commencement (graduation) ceremony.
