President's and Dean's Lists Annual Recognition Reception

The Annual President’s and Dean’s Lists Recognition Reception of Salt Lake Community College is a celebration of excellence to honor high achieving students for their incredible academic efforts and encourage them to continue on that path.

Every year the Academic and Career Advising Department plans the event with the collaboration of the college community and presents an annual event to publicly recognize students that have demonstrated outstanding academic performance in a semester in one or more semesters. Students on the Dean’s List have earned 3.50 to 3.79 GPA in a semester carrying a load of 15 credits or more. Students on the President’s List have earned 3.80 to 4.0 GPA in a semester while carrying a load of 15 credits or more.

Over 1, 200 students on the President’s and Dean’s Lists are invited every year to this event. In attendance are the college President, the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students to honor and encourage our outstanding students. Faculty alumni usually speak and a pinning ceremony takes place where students are asked to have their guest place their pins on their lapel.

Commitment to education and completion are encouraged and stories of success are heard that inspire students to continue to pursue their dreams through education and hard work.
