Academic Advising
Meet with an advisor for academic and career planning.
Knowledgeable academic and career planning advisors are available to assist students with accurate advising regarding:
- Career and vocational information
- Selection of college major and major changes
- Degree program and course selection
- Class scheduling
- Degree requirement
- Graduation audits
- Transfer of credits from other institutions
- Transfer of SLCC credits to others institutions
- College credit for work experience
- Referral source to multiple services available on campus
The Advisors provide interest and personality assessments for career choice, as well as interpret placement score for mathematics and English classes. The Advisors also direct students to others important resources on campus and in the community. Special advising services are available for members of specific cultural/ethnic communities, early enrollment, students with disabilities, and international students.
The Advisor for International Students assists International students with Immigration Nationalization Service (INS) requirements. Please visit the International Students Office at the Student Center, Room 234, Redwood Road Campus or call 957-4528 for more information.
The Program Advisors assist students who have declared a major at SLCC (see list for specific programs).
