Academic and Career Advising

First Year Experience

Academic and Career Advising offers diverse activities specifically designed to support student learning, development, and success in the first year of college. Our primary goal is to support students in their career decision-making process, assist them in creating an education plan, and encourage use of all available resources so that they successfully complete their education goals. Such activities include:

Career Services to encourage students to make an informed and timely decision regarding a program of study.

Accuplacer Placement Test Workshops to prepare students taking or retaking the test.

Peer Mentoring for Hispanic students to engage them academically and socially.

Academic Standards to review student’s plans and goals toward their academic achievement.

Specialized Advising for targeted student populations to provide resources in support of their cultural, emotional, social and academic needs.

Academic Advising provides a Co-Curricular Transcript as a testimonial of students’ participation in activities that promote leadership, academic excellence, and engagement.
