#4 Phil Lowe
High School: While playing at Evangelical Christian he made the honor role. Personal: Son of Mary Lowe. Phil wants to graduate with his associates degree and then move on to play baseball at a four-year institution. His biggest accomplishment was being awarded offensive MVP for his high school team. Phil’s goal while playing for the Bruins is to become well-rounded in every aspect of the game. He enjoys playing other sports like ping pong when not playing baseball. #17 Colby Berg
High School: While at Davis High, Colby focused on baseball. He received varsity letters his sophomore, through senior years. Colby was awarded high honor roll each year in high school. Personal: Son of Todd and Stacey Berg. One of his biggest accomplishments was when he had a team-best earned run average for the Utah Marshall baseball team. Colby’s goals this year are not to lose a game all season and maintain a 4.0 GPA for both semesters. When not playing ball, he likes to hang out with friends, swim, sleep, play basketball and xbox, and tan in the sun. #18 Tim Moore
High School: While at Cherokee Trail High School, his baseball team won the state championship in 2007. Freshman: He redshirted at The University of Hawaii Personal: Son of Mike and Jacquie Moore. Tim hopes to get his Associates Degree in Biology while playing baseball for the Bruins. He hopes that his future plan includes becoming a doctor. Tim loves the location of SLCC. When not playing baseball, Tim likes to relax and have a good time. #22 Nelson Castleberry
High School: Spanish Fork Personal: Son of Leal Castleberry and Larroine Nelson. Father, Leal played football at Southern Utah University. Nelson is a pre-medicine major and hopes to become a doctor. He hopes to average better than a 3.0 GPA while at SLCC. Some of his hobbies and interests include his passion for hunting and fishing. |

#23 Zach McCleskey
High School: While at Faith Christian, his baseball won a state championship. Freshman year: In his first season for the Bruins, Zach had a 5.56 ERA and was 2-0 on the season. He made 12 appearances, had 20 strikeouts, and gave up one home-run in 22 innings pitched. Personal: Son of David and Kim McClesky. Zach’s uncle played football at Fresno State. He is majoring in Finance and hopes his future includes playing professional baseball and something in finance. Zach wants to maintain a 3.5 GPA this year. Zach chose SLCC because of the location of the school and the baseball and athletic facilities. When not playing baseball, he loves to go golfing. High School: Jordan High School Personal: Son of Randy and Cindee Gray. He hopes his future includes playing baseball or becoming a business owner. Zane’s goal is to maintain a 3.0 GPA this year. #27 Adam Wilson High School: While at Lambrick Park High School he participated in hockey and baseball. He was voted MVP of his team in 2006 and “Top Pitcher” in 2008. Personal: Son of Dave and Maureen Wilson. One of his goals is to transfer to a four year university, preferably Division I, and play baseball. His biggest accomplishment is going to college. Adam hopes to be awarded with All-Region and All-American honors this season. When not playing baseball, he loves to play hockey and sit back and watch a good movie. #29 Jeremy Atkinson
High School: While at Maroochydore State High School, Jeremy participated in baseball, volleyball, and Rugby. Individually, Jeremy won the State School Baseball Pitching Award for best pitcher. His team won the National School Baseball Championship, and his club team won National Club Baseball Championship. Personal: Son of Aaron and Jill Atkinson. Jeremy hopes to become a Chiropractor. His biggest accomplishment was the being the winning pitcher in the grand finale of the Australian National Championship. Two of Jeremy’s goals include passing all of his classes and had having an ERA under 3.00 this year. When not playing baseball, he likes to listen to music, play rugby and hang out with friends. High School: Thornton High School Freshman year: While playing in his first season for the Bruins, C.J. had a 4.96 ERA and was 1-0. He made 10 pitching appearances where he pitched 16 innings and gave up 9 earned runs. C.J. also struck out 14 on the year. Personal: Son of Kim and Carlyse Crowther. C.J. is majoring in business and hopes to have a career in the business world. His biggest accomplishment was when he pitched five innings this summer and had 12 strikeouts. C.J. hopes to finish his associates’ degree this year. When he is not playing baseball, he likes to go fishing, camping and play basketball. High School: While playing at Thomas Jefferson High, Brett participated in baseball, football and basketball. He was awarded the 4A Player of the Year (Colorado) in 2007 and he was awarded first team all-league all four years of high school. Personal: Son of Wally and Lynn Nathan. His biggest accomplishment has been being awarded Colorado 4A Player of the Year. Brett hopes to maintain a 3.0 GPA this year and make 1st team All-SWAC. High School: Las Vegas High Freshman: While playing in his first year with the Bruins, he recorded a .259 batting average. Felix had a total of 81 at bats, scored 7 runs, had 21 hits, 24 RBIs, and a .328 slugging percentage. Personal: Son of Hector and Mavia Segovia. Felix is majoring in Aviation and hopes his future career involves becoming a pilot. His biggest accomplishment thus far was when he passed all of his classes his freshman year. When not playing baseball, Felix likes to listen to music, watch movies, swim, make friends, hang out, and play video games. #1 Duncan Blades
High School: While at Lambrick Park, Duncan played hockey and baseball, playing alongside fellow Bruin, Adam Wilson. He was voted “Top defensive player” in 2005, and he made the all-conference team in 2007. Lastly, he led his team with the most stolen bases in 2007 and 2008. Personal: Son of Mike and Vicky Blades. Duncan wants to become an accountant. His biggest accomplishment was winning gold at Canada Cup. While at SLCC, he hopes to be voted All-American and win a gold glove. Duncan’s favorite movie is For the Love of the Game. When not playing baseball, he likes to play hockey, work out and hang out with friends. #3 Stephen Nelson
High School: While playing at Dixie High, he participated in baseball and basketball. In 2008 he was awarded Region 9 MVP, Stephen also won the Donnie Pymm Award. He graduated high school with a 3.99 GPA which gave him High Honor Roll Honors. Personal: Son of Wayne and Patti Nelson. Wayne played baseball at Utah Valley State University and his brother Tony plays at Dixie State. Stephen is majoring in business and hopes become a lawyer. One of his biggest accomplishments was when his high school team won the Utah 3A State Championship. When not playing baseball, he likes to go golfing, wakeboarding and fishing. #9 David Johnson
High School: While playing at Alta High, David participated in baseball and football. His baseball team won a state championship his junior year. David was awarded 1st team all-state honors twice in both baseball and football. He was also named MVP of his baseball and football teams as well. Personal: Son of David Johnson, David is majoring in Civil Engineering. He plans on becoming a Civil Engineer. His biggest accomplishment has been serving his LDS Mission in Rome, Italy. While playing for Salt Lake Community College this year, he hopes to receive 1st team All SWAC honors and become an NJCAA All-American. High School: While playing at Arbor View, he participated in baseball and football. David was selected as the “Northwest Division Player of the Year,” for Southern Nevada in 2008. He also was an MVP of an all-star game his senior year. David’s team finished in 3rd place in the state tournament his junior year. Personal: Son of David and Sandy McClure. David’s uncle played football at Utah State. He is majoring in Political Science and hopes to become a Foreign Affairs Officer. David’s biggest accomplishment has been playing for the St. Louis Cardinals Scout team. While at SLCC, he hopes become an NJCAA All-American athlete and scholar. High School: Nate played baseballat Pine View High School. He was awarded team MVP his junior and senior years. Nate was selected for 1st team all-region and 1st team all-state. He also received an offer to play in an all-star game his senior year. Personal: Son of Mike and Dani Littlewood. Mike played baseball at BYU and for the MLB team Milwaukie Brewers. His brother plays at Dixie State. Nate’s biggest accomplishments are playing on the Angels Scout team, and hitting 13 home-runs in high school. He wants to have a .350 batting average and hit five home-runs for the Bruins this year. When not playing baseball, he likes to lift weights and hang out with friends. High School: Grand Junction High School Freshman year: As a Freshman for the Bruins, Ryan had 37 hits in 172 at-bats, had 43 RBIs, 3 home-runs and on base percentage of .442. He was awarded 1st team All-SWAC as a freshman. Personal: Son of Jim and Marlys Bernal. Ryan is majoring in Business and hopes to become a MLB All-Star for his future career. He is a team representative for the Bruin Baseball team. Ryan’s biggest accomplishment was hitting a home-run against College of Southern Nevada. When not playing baseball, he likes to beat his roommates in a game of 21 and watch television. High School: While at Tahoma High, his team finished at state in 3rd place in 2006 and 2007. He was awarded 2nd team all-region both of those years as well. Transfer: Redshirted at Washington State University Personal: Son of Jim and Karen Roland. JR is majoring in Criminal Justice and hopes to pursue a career in Professional baseball. His biggest accomplishment has been the fact that he has been able to receive a scholarship to play collegiate baseball. High School: Delta High Freshman year: While playing in his first season for the Bruins, Brandon had a .325 batting average in 80 at bats; he scored 21 runs, had 26 hits and 9 RBIs. He also had .396 on-base percentage for the Bruins. Personal: Son of JR and Tricia Keller. Brandon is hoping that he can maintain good grades this year and better his GPA from last year. High School: While playing at Riverton High, he participated in baseball and bowling. Scott was awarded region MVP and selected to the All-State team after his senior season. In 2008, his team won their regional tournament. Personal: Son of George and Mary Kay Shipley. Scott hopes to graduate with an associate’s degree and complete a bachelor’ degree at a four-year institution. He wants to do whatever he can to help the team.
