Craig earned his Ph.D from Texas A&M University in the field of Biochemistry where he studied neurogenesis in Drosophila brain tissue. After graduating, he conducted post-doctoral research at the National Institutes of Health where he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Myriam Gorospe. He has worked in industrial research settings that include the technology development group at Myriad Genetics, Inc., and for the U.S. Army as part of the Science and Technology Corporation group at Dugway Proving Ground. Craig left the private sector to join Salt Lake Community College where he was responsible for implementing and directing the InnovaBio internship program in its formative years. He is currently the chair of the Biotechnology Department at Salt Lake Community College where he works closely with industry, other science departments in the college, and many partners in high school biotechnology programs.
