Salt Lake Community College has received emergency student aid via the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). This aid is available to eligible students to pay for education-related expenses.

Students taking for-credit classes are eligible for the grant, and eligibility is not dependent upon citizenship status. Students include U.S. citizens, permanent residents, international students, refugees, asylum seekers, DACA recipients, and other DREAMers.

Students taking Salt Lake Technical College classes are also eligible for the grant, but those taking Workforce courses and certificates are not eligible to receive HEERF funds. With that said, Learn and Work and other programs may be available to support students taking non-credit courses at SLCC. Learn more about Learn and Work, or contact your program advisor with questions.

Qualifying students who are also Pell eligible will receive $350, and qualifying students who are not Pell eligible will receive $200.
Students signed up for direct deposit will automatically receive the funds in their designated bank account. Those who are not signed up for direct deposit will receive a check in the mail to the address on file with the college.
  1. Make sure you meet registration deadlines for Fall and are taking traditional for-credit or Salt Lake Technical College classes.
  2. File a 2022-23 FAFSA to determine if you are PELL eligible. SLCC's School Code is 005220.
  3. Ensure your direct deposit or refund preferences are current in MYSLCC.
Eligible students taking classes during the Fall semester, either for the full term or half term, will receive the grant during that semester. Funds will be distributed the third week of Fall semester for qualifying students enrolled for the full term. Those registered for an 8-week course during the second term will receive their funds during that term at a date yet to be determined.
