Child Care and Family Services
Salt Lake Community College offers two locations for a parent students child care needs:
The South City Child Care Center offers quality child care that is safe and in a loving environment for your child. Student parents are welcome anytime to visit our busy, happy, creative classrooms. Our center is based on understanding and advocating the value of play and making play the primary source of learning. We love children and believe that by teaching acceptance, respect and self worth, and promoting a love for learning, they will become well rounded caring adults in our future communities. The Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab School at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus is theoretically and practically devoted to developmentally appropriate practice, which refers to a framework of principles and guidelines for practice that promotes young children's optimal learning and development. We provide programs designed for children two to five years of age. Basic to the foundation of developmentally appropriate practice is the notion that children learn most effectively through active exploration. Moreover, each child has specific interests, curiosities, talents and self-esteem, which must be nurtured and enhanced. For more information please call (801) 957-4567 or visit our website.
