Graduation vs. Commencement: What’s the difference?
Graduation is a step-by-step process leading up to the receiving of your official degree. If you haven’t applied for graduation yet, please contact the SLCC Graduation Office at 801-957-4035, or stop by the office at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Student Center Building, room 270C.
Commencement refers to the ceremony, officiated by the President of Salt Lake Community College, which is an opportunity for the students to share the excitement and importance of their academic accomplishments with peers, family and friends.
Save the Dates
May 5 – Deadline to RSVP for Commencement Ceremony attendance
May 6 – Commencement - 9:30 a.m. Graduates need to be at the Maverik Center by 8:30 a.m.
The faculty, staff and administrators of Salt Lake Community College look forward to welcoming you and your guests to Commencement 2016 on May 6. Graduates are asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to line up for the processional. The Academic processional will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the Commencement Ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will run approximately two hours.

All degree candidates for May 2016 Commencement and persons who received degrees or certificates in Fall 2015, Spring 2016 and Summer 2016 are eligible to participate in Salt Lake Community College’s 2016 Commencement.
Student RSVP to Commencement
Students who want to participate at the Commencement Ceremony must RSVP in advance to walk at the ceremony.
