Growing demand for energy efficiency is helping to create new "green" jobs in Utah. The Green Academy of Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is introducing a new course geared toward this emerging workforce.

In today�s economy, new home construction requests are down. Many homeowners are opting to upgrade their homes instead of selling and purchasing more expensive homes. Incorporating �Green� remodeling/retrofitting of existing residential property with new energy efficiency materials into your business offerings puts you front and center of this exciting new field.

Green Retrofitting
October 8 - December 10 Tuition $195

This is a brand new 10 week, non-credit course that will train students about the many facets of residential and small business retrofitting. This course includes updates on current codes and energy saving industry standards as well as cost effective alternatives for the environment. Contractors looking to introduce "Green" into their business will learn how to evaluate existing buildings and ways to create a retrofit plan that incorporates elements of energy, water and materials efficiency, indoor air quality and other green building features.
