
The U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau Region VIII has requested that Salt Lake Community College host an employment workshop for women interested in learning more about training and job placement opportunities in today's green economy. Salt Lake Community College's Green Academy program will host this event Monday, Nov. 16th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon at our Miller Campus in Sandy, Utah. We cordially invite you to join Ms. Frances E. Jefferson from the U.S. Department of Labor and Salt Lake Community College for this event.
This workshop includes a moderated panel of industry, community, and government leaders who will address the following issues related to women and job opportunity in today's Green Economy:
Defining the Green Economy and its related academic and career pathways
Current and potential Utah "green jobs" for women
Training and education opportunities
Entrepreneurial and business opportunities for women associated with the Green Economy
In addition, there will be breakout sessions for more comprehensive information following the panel discussion along with a light buffet lunch and networking opportunity.
