| START WITH SUSTAINABILITY SLCC’s SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATE program focuses on a variety of issues associated with sustainability. Knowledge and skills taught in a wide variety of courses will help prepare students for jobs in new clean and green industries and train current workers who wish to augment their skills and enhance opportunities for advancement. The certificate program is comprised of 24 credit hours of course work. Students are required to take four core courses which total 12 credit hours. Students’ choices for remaining courses are dependent upon areas of specialization. Students have the option to take required courses online or in a traditional classroom format. | |

| AT WORK Green Retrofitting – a brand new 10 week, non-credit course that will train students about the many facets of residential retrofitting. Designed especially for local contractors looking to add specialization in "Green" components, this course includes information about current codes and energy saving industry standards as well as cost effective alternatives for the environment. Students will learn how to evaluate existing buildings and ways to create a retrofit plan that incorporates elements of energy, water and materials efficiency, indoor air quality and other green building features. | ||

| COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS CONVERSION KIT INSTALLATION TRAINING & CNG CYLINDER INSPECTION Join us at SLCC's Larry H. Miller Automotive Training Center for eighteen hours of intensive CNG conversion training. Students will learn how to install EPA certified kits. CNG Cylinder Inspection is part two of the Compressed Natural Gas Conversion Training class. This class provides specific training for cylinder tank inspection of vehicles that have been converted to CNG. | ||
