Our monthly community workshop series addresses the questions that seem to be on everyone's minds. What can I do to save money, use less energy and help the environment? All wokshops are taught at the Westpointe Workforce Training and Education Center, 1060 N Flyer Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. 


Electric Vehicles

Have you been considering buying an Electric Vehicle (EV)? You may have some concerns about range, charging, and whether or not an EV will fit your lifestyle. Maybe you’ve heard conflicting information about how green Electric Vehicle really are. We’ll talk about your range and charging options, plus other factors such as maintenance costs, battery life and resale value. Finally, we’ll address the impact that EVs have on carbon emissions and air quality to give you the full picture and help you determine if buying an EV makes “cents” now or later.

Installing solar on your home is a major investment and it’s understandable that homeowners have a lot of questions about the cost, the potential savings, how to compare different proposals from different companies and what all of the technical stuff means. We’ll help you wade through the information, explaining how different utility rates and different equipment will impact your savings. We’ll also provide you with resources to help you decide if Rooftop Solar makes “cents” for you.

In this workshop you’ll learn about low to no-cost investments that have big payback as well as how to qualify for potential rebates and incentives. What’s so smart about a smart home? You may be interested in how a smart home can help you save energy and save money while increasing comfort, convenience and safety. At the same time, with all of the new products coming to market, everything from thermostats to toothbrushes, you may also feel overwhelmed about where to start and how much of an investment is required. We’ll help you with the basics of how to get started and help you determine which smart home features make “cents” for you.
