About Skills USA

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. SkillsUSA serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually. They help each student excel.The organization has 13,000 school chapters in 54 state and territorial associations. More than 14,500 instructors and administrators are professional members of SkillsUSA.

SLCC Skills USA Tuition Waivers

Salt Lake Community College offers students the opportunity to apply for a SkillsUSA tuition waiver to those individuals who place first, second or third place at the State SkillsUSA Competition.

Individuals who place first, second or third at the State SkillsUSA competition are eligible to apply for a SkillsUSA tuition waiver. First place winners are eligible for a two semester waiver; Second place winners are eligible for a one semester waiver; and Third place winners are eligible for half semester waiver. Tuition waivers must be used for Fall and/or Spring semesters. Summer semester does not apply. In addition to contest requirements, for a tuition waiver, students must be a Utah resident and in good academic standing.

If you place in the state competition, you will receive an email to your bruinmail account with information on how to complete the documentation for your tuition waiver.
