SLCC AlumNight at the Grand was a Success

On October 26, 2007, the SLCC Alumni Association celebrated its first annual event in years. The Alumni Association and the Grand Theatre joined forces to provide SLCC alumni with a memorable evening out.

The event began with an informal reception in the Skylight Lounge at the South City campus. About 25 alums were in attendance to hear President Cynthia Bioteau speak about how crucial they are to the community college's mission and purpose. After President Bioteau's remarks, she called out names for the winners of the raffle where a beautiful watercolor painting  of the Salt Lake City skyline by one of our alums was given away, as well as several cherry wood pen and pencil sets, and some beautiful piano music CDs.

After the short reception, alumni and their families went to the opening night performance of Grand Theatre's "Anne of Green Gables." Alumni were able to purchase tickets at a reduced price for this special engagement.

The First Semi-Annual AlumNight at the Grand was a great start to the Association's annual event calendar. Look for news about the next AlumNight at the Grand in the Spring for the Grand Theatre's production of Mark Twain's "Big River." The SLCC Alumni Association and the Grand Theatre will join again on another magnificent night to get together, enjoy a great American story, and remember how we got our start at SLCC.
