Make a Difference. Support a Scholarship.
In 2013-14, resident tuition and fees for full-time students is $1,671 per semester.
On average, students spend close to $450 each semester for books and supplies.
Donations to the SLCC General Scholarship Fund make it possible to award general scholarships to roughly 55% of the Utah high school seniors who apply. With additional donations we can help even more deserving students achieve their educational dreams.
Three Ways to Support SLCC Scholarships
- Contribute to the General Scholarship Fund. This fund is managed and administered by the SLCC Foundation. You may earmark your contribution for specific types of students, such as those in a particular academic program, or single parents.
- Create a named annual scholarship. The suggested minimum donation to create a named scholarship is $1,671 (tuition for one semester). You can make additional donations to extend the life of the scholarship or to help more students.
- Endow a scholarship. With a minimum donation of $35,000 you can endow a scholarship. The SLCC Foundation will prudently invest the donation so that only investment returns provide scholarships. Contact us so we can discuss endowing a scholarship or other ways you might leave an ongoing legacy at Salt Lake Community College. Generations of students will thank you.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
By law, students who receive SLCC scholarship funding must demonstrate legal residency in the United States. SLCC further requires that scholarship recipients be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Donors have considerable latitude in determining scholarship criteria such as admission status (new or returning student), academic program of study, financial need, full-or part-time, member of an under-served or under-represented population, minimum GPA, etc.
We look forward to working with you to design a scholarship that matches your giving priorities.

Thank you so much for this opportunity. Without this scholarship there is no way I could further my education. I live with my grandmother and there just isn't enough money. I am first in my family to attend college. It means the world to us and it has shown my brothers that if they work hard, financial aid and scholarships are available for them to get an education.

From a donor...
"We enjoyed attending the annual Scholarship Luncheon. Thank you for seating us with the student who received our scholarship this year. She is in the Biotechnology program, has a 3.4 cumulative GPA, and will graduate next spring. It was fun to hear about her college experience and her goals for the future. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to next year..."
