COLLEGE RESOURCES

The Disability Resource Center provides specific accommodations to students disabled or able-bodied. There are, however, numerous services available to all students.

GENERAL SERVICES

Academic Advising: Advising is provided for students regarding degree programs, degree audits, and assists in developing academic plans. Career testing is available and advisors can assist in determining a major.

Employment and Cooperative Education: Assistance is provided in finding part- and full-time employment, work-study positions, and cooperative education programs.

Health and Wellness Center: The Center provides information on how to live a healthy life and has social workers and health care providers on staff if students become ill or need short term counseling.

Tutoring: A wide variety of learning support and tutoring services are available to all SLCC students.  They include drop-in tutoring, one-on-one tutoring, departmental labs and others.  Click on the following link for a complete list of available resources:  www.slcc.edu/tutoring/index.asp

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Financial Aid: The financial aid department processes and provides information regarding financial aid applications. Eligibility based on financial need, satisfactory academic progress, and grade point average.

Tuition Waivers: The Disability Resource Center has limited funds for continuing DRC students who have taken and are planning to take a minimum of nine credits per term. Ask your DRC Advisor for more information.

Vocational Rehabilitation: The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services is a state run agency that provides funds for tuition, books and personal services for people with disabilities. Your advisor can refer you to the nearest office, or call 1 (800) 473-7530.
