Dean of Student Planning and Support

Janet Felker, Dean of Student Planning and Support, has worked with students at SLCC for twenty years. She has extensive background in higher education, advising, transfer and articulation, curriculum processes, and supportive learning environments.  Previously, Janet worked in Student Services at San Jose State University and North Shore Community College.  She has a MAT from Harvard University and a BA from Skidmore College.

The Dean of Student Planning and Support provides leadership in assisting students to make a successful transition to SLCC and to develop educational plans that meet their needs.  The departments within Student Planning and Support work with students to clarify their goals and identify resources that will help them succeed at SLCC.  We also assist students as they move beyond SLCC to finding jobs and/or transferring.  In collaboration with faculty and staff from other departments, we seek to empower students to make connections at SLCC.

We are excited that you are interested in SLCC or already attending!  It is a privilege to work with the most diverse study body of any college in Utah.
