Admissions

SLCC requires students to complete the online Admissions Application and pay the non-refundable $35.00 application fee prior to enrolling for classes.  Please see Prospective Students for more information.

Health Science Admissions

Health Science Admissions has their own applications which need to be completed to enroll in the for their programs.  Their programs include Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiological Technology, Surgical Technology, and two Nursing options: Nursing RN (AAS Degree) and LPN to RN option (PN license required.)  for more information, please visit the Health Science Admissions site.

Registration

Once you've applied to SLCC and have been accepted at the College, registering for classes can be done online from MyPage.  Please see Registering For Classes for more information.  To check on the status of your registration, click here.

Graduation

Graduation Applications are available at www.slcc.edu/graduation or in person at Enrollment Services.  Students should submit the graduation application and pay a $20.00 fee for each One-Year Certificate, Diploma or Degree.

Letters of General Education Completion are also available through the Graduation Office free of charge (written authorization needed.) Please see Graduation for more information.

Appeals

Appeals are granted for exceptional circumstances only.  Students may be granted a maximum of 3 appeals the duration of the student's enrollment, but are not guaranteed approval.  Please see Appeals for more information.

Verifications

Salt Lake Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as it's agent for verifications of student enrollment.  You can contact the Clearinghouse via e-mail, by telephone at (703) 742-4200, or by FAX at (703) 742-4239.

For the following functions, please link to the National Student Clearinghouse Student Self Service site:

  • Print Enrollment Verification Certificate that you can send to all requestors requiring proof of degree and enrollment (Firms, Employers, Lenders, Health Insurers, and Housing Providers.)
  • Check the deferment forms and electronic notifications that have been sent to your lenders.
  • Obtain a list of your student loan lenders and a link to real-time loan information.
  • View your enrollment history and find out when SLCC is scheduled to send the Clearinghouse its next enrollment update.
  • View enrollment verifications to student service providers that have been made per your request or the service provider's request (with your consent.)

For verifications needing "non-directory" information such as GPA and/or Social Security number, students can request verifications from SLCC by faxing a completed Verification Form to Enrollment Services at: (801) 957-4961.

Records

The permanent record (transcript) of your academic achievement is maintained by Enrollment Services.  Transcript requests can be received by fax, mail, or in person.  Please see Transcript Requests for more information.

Incoming Transcripts

Students may be able to get credit for courses taken from other colleges or universities within the United States.  Please see Transferring Credit To SLCC for more information.

Data Center

The Data Center performs admissions data entry, enters admissions applications, high school transcripts, test scores, name changes, corrections of social security numbers and student ID's, addresses, spelling, etc.  If you need your student record updated, such as changes to your name, address, phone number, or e-mail address, please see Student Record Changes for more information.

Residency

Residency application submission deadline is the end of the third week of the semester for which residency is sought.  Please see Residency for more information.

Veterans Affairs

Most degree and non-degree programs at SLCC are approved for those who qualify for Veterans Educational Benefits.  Please see Veterans Office for more information.

Student Express

Student Express, located on the second floor of the Student Center (Redwood Campus) can provide information to help students get enrolled and oriented to SLCC.  The Student Express staff can provide you information about admission, registration, testing, general requirements, and answer common questions.  Please see Student Express for more information.

Clearinghouse (Student Self Service)

SLCC has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide Enrollment, Degree and Past Attendance Verifications.  The National Student Clearinghouse can be contacted at: 703-742-4200.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program for non-resident students who may enroll in a designated two-year and four-year institution at a special reduced tuition level.  Please visit the WUE page for more information.
