Founded in 1948, Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s only comprehensive community college. With 10 locations—including an eCampus—and more than 60,000 students each year, the College is Utah’s largest institution of higher education. SLCC ranks #3 in the country in associate degrees awarded.
SLCC has a legacy of athletic success and artistic and cultural excellence. The College boasts a Grand Theatre that serves as the institution’s artistic center. In addition to theater productions, the Grand also hosts lectures, exhibits, and other programming that engages the community.
The College’s athletic programs have a history of producing people who do outstanding things. All five programs have spent time ranked first in the country in during the past five years, and Softball, Volleyball, and Men’s Basketball have taken part in their respective National Championship Games during that time—with the Men’s Basketball team winning the 2009 NCJAA Championship.
The College has maintained its open-enrollment policy since its inception in 1948, and maintains a 20-1 student-to-faculty ratio.
