| What is the Fashion Institute? The Fashion Institute prepares students for retail or wholesale sales, management, retail buying or entrepreneurship in the clothing industry. This course work trains students in fashion design, both theory and in practice. |

| What jobs are available in the fashion industry? Fashion Designer, Sales Associate, Merchandiser, Pattern maker, Department Manager, Visual Display, Sales Representative, Area Manager, Wholesaler, Buyer, Layout Artist and more. |

| Where do people in the fashion industry work? Jobs are available in various stores; Fashion Design Markets -- LA, Dallas, Chicago, New York, and many more; and Manufacturing Plants. |

| What is the salary range for people in the fashion industry? Wages range from minimum wage to hourly wages of $8.00 & up for entry level positions with a possible commission or bonus. Other positions such as Buyers or account executives can start at $30,000 and up depending on company and growth. Sales representatives can earn $30,000 plus commission. |

| Is there a job demand in the fashion industry? Absolutely, there is a job demand! Key elements in success are hard work and proving yourself. Most individuals start at the entry level and move up. It is imperative that you understand fashion and sales from beginning to end. |

| How long does the training take? The Fashion Institute classes can be completed within 12 to 18 months. Four to five years of in-store experience is needed to become a buyer. |

| Are there any prerequisites? There are no prerequisites to begin the classes. As you move through the training, certain classes will have prerequisites. |

| When can I obtain the Certificate? After successfully completing 30 hours of fashion classes, you may submit a request for a Certificate. Request forms can be obtained by contacting the Program Coordinator. The certificate is signed by the Dean and President of the College and mailed to your home. |

Can I get a degree in Fashion? Students completing the courses earn continuing education credit which applies to a certificate. Credit generated by completion of these courses can only be used toward an AA, AS, AAS or One-Year Certificate with approval of the division sponsoring the degree or one-year certificate. |
