MATCHING PROCEDURES
- Students are matched with tutors after students attend Orientation. NOTE: Students need to attend an Orientation and sign a tutoring agreement as soon as possible. Students can sign up for an Orientation outside the Focused Tutoring office at TB 506A.
- Students may be put into small groups with other students in the same course.
- A match will depend on tutor time availability and student's time availability.
- The more time the student has available on their schedule, the more likely they are to be matched with a tutor.
- We will email students as soon as we find a match for them. Students will be notified via SLCC email so they must check their SLCC email!
- Depending on the availability of tutor time that matches a student's schedule, it may take between two days or more than two weeks from the time a student attends Orientation to match them with a tutor.
- If we are unable to find a match for a student, they will be notified as soon as possible.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Students are expected to attend every scheduled appointment on time. The Focused Tutoring program is for students who need tutoring on a regular basis. No Shows, Cancels, and Late Cancels can result in the student being dropped from the program.
PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS
Students are required to attend class, read their book, and come prepared with their homework done. The tutoring session is a place to ask questions about your homework. Tutoring is not a place to sit and do your homework.
