Focused Tutoring is a department of the Learning Center Programs.

Mission

The mission of Focus Tutoring is to support students’ learning and successful course completion by providing weekly, individualized or small group tutoring assistance to students who find a particular class challenging. We strive to provide tutors for as many students as our current tutor availability and budget allow. We connect students to other departments to supply additional resources that will promote students' learning and success.

Goals
• Support student learning.
• Create tutoring services sensitive to needs of diverse students.
• Provide qualified and trained tutors.
• Provide intensive tutoring through on-going, individualized, and small group tutoring.
• Help students succeed in and complete tutored classes.
• Help students become independent learners.
