PACE SCHOLARS
PACE (Partnerships for Accessing College Education) is a scholarship program created to increase college participation and graduation rates for high school students. The Project was created by a partnership between local high schools, businesses, and Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). This program is for you if you participated in PACE at your high school and are now a first-year student at SLCC.
Terms of the Scholarship
- I understand that the PACE Scholarship is a two-year tuition and general student fees scholarship and that I am responsible for books and course fees.
- I agree to be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) and complete 30 credit hours each academic year. I understand that if I register for more than 18 credit hours I will be responsible to pay for those hours.
- I understand that I must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.6 each semester.
- I agree to write a one-page thank you letter to PACE donors, explaining the impact that PACE has had on me. The PACE scholarships are made possible through the generous support of donors. We need you to help us communicate the importance of your scholarship to donors. A small investment of your time now will help ensure that we can maintain and increase our scholarship fund.
- I agree to participate in the Bridge to Success summer program from July 11th ~ August 8th (see more info below). If you are unable to attend the Bridge to Success, meet with your FYE PACE advisor to register for another college success course.
- I agree to take the appropriate English and/or math class every semester until I finish the requirements for my program of study.
- I agree to attend at least two campus events outside of the classroom each semester (fall and spring) during my first year (i.e. four events in total). One event will be the upcoming PACE scholarship event.
- I agree to meet with my FYE PACE advisor for a midterm advising session in the fall and spring semesters.
