Program Mission Statement 

The mission of the Geography program at Salt Lake Community College is to provide an Associate of Science degree in Geography for transfer to other 4-year institutions of higher learning by providing a solid foundation in the fundamentals of physical, cultural and technical realms of geography.

The Geoscience Department at SLCC is committed to academic integrity and rigor in that all students graduating with an Associate of Science degree in Geography have a solid understanding of the physical, cultural, and technical realms of geography as stated in our mission. in the discipline of geography.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students graduating with an Associate of Science degree in Geography should be able to demonstrate the ability to apply scientific knowledge and geospatial analytical skills in:
   physical geography
   cultural geography
   human-environmental interactions
   geospatial technology
