Dr. Fritz is currently the Chair of the History and Anthropology Department at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). Dr. Fritz completed his doctorate in anthropology at the University of Utah in 1984 after completing his undergraduate studies in anthropology in New Mexico. Dr. Fritz has served as the Director of the Faculty Teaching and Learning Centered, received the Distinguished Faculty Lecturer and has held  numerous faculty leadership positions at SLCC.    

His research interests include Native American land use and religious studies.

Dr. Fritz has conducted ethnographic, archaeological and ethno-historical research with numerous American Indian tribes in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming, and internationally, in Mexico and South America. He has numerous publications, papers and reports.
