English Proficiency

All students are required to take the Accuplacer/LOEP or CASAS test upon arrival at SLCC. Based on the test scores, students will be placed at the level of appropriate English instruction for their needs.

For more information on the tests, visit Student Testing Services. If a student’s English skills are not proficient enough for college-level work, they should enroll in SLCC’s Intensive ESL program. For more information, contact or visit International Student Affairs.
