LGBTQ+ Awareness Training & Events

LGBTQ+ Awareness Training is a two-hour program which identifies faculty and staff who will provide empathy, acceptance, support and resources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and questioning students. LGBTQ+ Ally symbol posted in an individual's workspace lets students and staff know they can go to that person for help, for advice, or to talk confidence with a person who will be supportive and accepting. This symbol also means that biased and offensive actions and comments will be addressed in an educational and informative manner.

When the LGBTQ+ Awareness Training is being offered, you can register as a participant through MySLCC. If your department or organization would like to schedule a training for a different time, you can request a training by emailing SafeZone@slcc.edu. Once requested, a LGBTQ+ Awareness Training trainer will contact you to set up a time.

LGBTQ+ Awareness Training is offered each semester. Staff and faculty will find LGBTQ+ Awareness Training opportunities through the MySLCC "Employee Training" portal. Students should email safezone@slcc.edu to register for upcoming opportunities.

If you would like to become a facilitator or request a training please email gssrc@slcc.edu
