NOTE: If you are an SLCC student working on an academic assignment, please visit the Student Writing Center. The Community Writing Center is a non-profit life-long learning resource sponsored by Salt Lake Community College. The Community Writing Center promotes the improvement of writing abilities for personal, economic and social goals. To achieve this mission, the CWC sponsors innovative outreach programs and collaborates with community partners to identify the best use of its educational resources. | | | The CWC has five programs: The Center: “A place to write,” with technological, textual and learning resources, space to compose and receive feedback, and room to meet about writing.
Writing Coaching: Free one-on-one assistance on any writing task - resumes, poetry, letters, articles - from start to finish. Writing coaching is available at the CWC, in libraries and community centers around the valley and online. | | | Writing Workshops: Workshops for the public on topics ranging from grant-writing to poetry, journal writing to press releases. DiverseCity Writing Series: A multi-group, cross-valley writing and publication project to build bridges over social chasms such as economic disparity and racial intolerance. Writing Partners: Collaborations with local organizations (non-profit, government, business and industry) on projects to improve the writing skills of their staff, clients and volunteers. | | | Driving Directions
