Housing & Logistics

The housing information listed below is only for SLCC's NEH Summer Institute. It is not for prospective or current SLCC students.

Housing

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Staybridge Suites, nearby the Salt Lake Community College campus. All rooms at the Staybridge Suites include a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, plates, glassware, pots & pans). The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and an evening social with a light dinner and complimentary wine and beer several nights per week. which will allow Institute participants to cut back on individual costs. The hotel has ADA accessible rooms and common areas, including a fitness center and pool. Several shared and single room options are available:

  • Studio Suite (Queen Sofa Sleeper): $99
  • Double Student Suite (Two Queen Beds/ Sofa Sleeper): $99
  • One Bedroom Suite (King Bed/ Sofa Sleeper): $119
  • One Bedroom Double Suite (Two Queen Beds/ Sofa): $129
  • Two Bedroom/ Two Bath Suite (Two Queen/ One King/ Sofa): $189

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the SLCC campus and to local grocery stores. The hotel is also adjacent to light rail which provides easy access to Salt Lake City’s downtown and the Salt Lake International Airport.

Academic Resources

Participants will have access to Publication Center resources and other campus facilities including an 88,000+ volume library, an athletic facility, and a multi-purpose student center. Participants will also have access to research resources through the Utah Academic Library Consortium (UALC), which consists of all public and private academic libraries in accredited institutions of higher education in the State of Utah. Participants will have computer and printing access through the Publication Center and campus wi fi access.

Stipend

Individuals selected to participate in this four-week Institute will receive a $3,300 stipend to help cover travel, housing, and basic living expenses. Stipends are taxable.

Professional Development

We will issue a certificate of completion with full course details for any attendees who need documentation for professional development units.

Travel

The Salt Lake City International Airport is approximately 15 minutes from the SLCC campus and Staybridge Suites. The hotel offers a free airport shuttle and TRAX (light rail) runs from the airport to the hotel.
