New Student Orientation

The theme of SLCC's orientations is "Connections"

We are here to help you make connections at SLCC. We will introduce you to registration procedures along with available services, resources and facilities. First-time freshmen must complete mandatory new student orientation before registering for classes, however, all new students are expected to complete an orientation before class registration.

Early participation in orientation will allow for early class registration.

To complete new student orientation, please choose one of the following options:

QuickConnect

QuickConnect orientations are 90-minute sessions offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings throughout the year. This option is designed to give you the information you need to get started successfully at SLCC including:

  • Understanding degree and program options
  • Using the catalog and class schedule
  • Registering for classes
  • Utilizing SLCC resources
  • Answering questions you may have about any of the above

    QuickConnects also include a 30-min. group advising portion to help you plan your first semester of classes. Students can receive registration assistance after each QuickConnect.

NetConnect

NetConnect orientation is an option for students who live at a distance from SLCC or for transfer students who are already familiar with college experience.

A follow-up academic advising session is strongly recommended.

CampusConnect

Looking for an orientation option to meet academic advisors, faculty, other SLCC students and attend helpful interest sessions, participate in a campus tour, and gather information directly from College departments and resources? CampusConnect, an extended, in-depth orientation, is the option for you! This orientation is only available in June.
