| The Performing Arts Department includes courses in dance, film, music and theater. Courses are designed to support creative expression with the primary goal of developing students who are willing to take risks and discover a personal voice. The department is committed to the artistic process through a disciplined understanding and practice of the theory, techniques and skill of the performing arts. To that end, courses guide students from theoretical knowledge, through practical skill, to performance. Most courses are transferable and students interested in pursuing a four-year degree in dance, film, music or theater should contact the Division of Arts and Communication at (801) 957-4130. Courses which can be repeated for credit may be repeated for a maximum of six credits. THE 1150, THE 1190, and THE 1900 may be repeated as often as desired. Performing arts scholarships are available. Interested students should contact the division office or the Financial Aid Office at (801) 957-4291.
