Fiona Silcox is a Professor in the Aerospace/Aviation Technology program. She holds an M.A.S. in Aeronautical Science, with a specialization in both Management Operations and Aviation Safety from ERA U. She is a Commercial pilot in both fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft and holds a Flight Instructor Certificate in both single and multi-engine instrument airplanes. Fiona holds additional FAA certifications as an Advanced Ground Instructor, Instrument Ground Instructor, and Certified Aviation Dispatcher. She has over 20 years of aviation experience as a ground and flight instructor, commercial pilot, and corporate jet pilot. Fiona joined SLCC in 2001 as a full-time faculty member. Since her tenure at SLCC she has had direct involvement in the development of the Aviation Administration program and Aviation Dispatch program. Most recently she was appointed as the Chief Ground Instructor for the SLCC approved FAA Part 141 Pilot Ground School.
Erwin Zundel is a retired U.S. Air Force pilot and has 10 years as a flight instructor with worldwide flight experience. Erwin also has twenty years as an airline pilot with both domestic and international experience. He brings a wide variety of flight experience from small training aircraft to large commercial airline aircraft. He has the following FAA Pilot certificates: Air Transport Pilot (ATP), Multi-engine Instructor Pilot (MEI), Multi-engine Instrument Instructor Pilot (MEII) and he is typed in 8 different aircraft. Erwin has been a faculty member at SLCC for over 10 years.
Brett Terpstra has been teaching aviation classes at SLCC since Spring 2014. Brett is a dual-rated pilot (fixed-wing and rotor-wing) and former helicopter flight instructor (CFI/CFII). Brett holds Advanced Ground Instructor (IGI) certificates. His diverse experience brings a unique perspective to the program.
