Physical Therapist Assistant

The Physical Therapist Assistant program at SLCC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association, 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314; telephone: 703-706-3245; email: accreditation@apta.org; website: www.apta.org/CAPTE. 

The program consists of 3.5 semesters of theory, laboratory and clinical courses.  The curriculum is offered during the day only.  Upon graduation, graduates are eligible to practice as a physical therapist assistant in physical therapy clinics in the State of Utah.

SLCC Graduates
Graduates wishing to work as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Utah must comply with Utah licensure requirements.  To view requirements, go to www.DOPL.utah.gov.

SLCC Physical Therapist Assistant program graduates demonstrate an excellent passing rate and overall scores on the certification exam required by the state of Utah for licensure.  The national examination (NPTAE) is provided by the Federation of State Boards (www.fsbpt.org). 

Graduates of the program are highly sought after due to the strong instructional design of the curriculum.

SLCC Faculty
The full time faculty have many years of clinical and teaching experiences.  Both faculty have been recognized by the college and received teaching excellence awards.
