Intramural Sports-

Definition:

• Sports carried on within a school. Derived from "murus", Latin for "wall" (which also gave us "mural", a painting on a wall.)

The intramural sports program at SLCC ran very strong for 10+ years. Starting in the late 90's participation started to taper off and virtually disappeared by the turn of the millennium.

In 2001, SLCC Student Senate decided that the money could be put to better use elsewhere and the intramural program was cancelled.

Fitness opportunities are available through other avenues such as club sports, extramural golf and tennis teams and through open recreation times in the Lifetime Activities Center and the Fitness Center at South City Campus.
