Applied Technology Admission Steps

Parking While Registering for Classes at South City Campus (SCC):
Park at meters or obtain a complementary day pass from the Applied Technology advisor.

    • Apply for Admission
      A $40 non-refundable application fee is required. Sponsors may pay this on behalf of eligible students. High school students must first complete a Pre-Registration form, after which they will complete a paper application and pay the application fee.
      Meet with an advisor to determine desired program, availability, and eligibility at:

      South City Campus
      1575 South State Street, Room 1-061G

      The advisor will issue a test order for SLCC Student Testing Services.

    • Complete Assessment
      Most programs require proof of basic skills proficiency by taking standardized tests (TABE, or CASAS/CELSA), or in the form of recent high school transcripts, recent GED, and college transcripts.
      Complete scheduled testing at South City Campus, Room 2-153, and meet with an advisor to review testing results.

    • Pay Tuition & Schedule Courses
      Apply for financial assistance any time during the enrollment process. Financial assistance for tuition, fees, and books may be available from a number of sources (high school students do not pay tuition but do pay classroom fees):
      • VA and PELL Grants: Contact the financial aid advisor at (801) 957-3437, South City Campus, SCM 1-061B.
      • Scholarships: Contact the Director of Student Affairs at (801) 957-2122, Highland Center, Room HLDC215.
      • Government agency sponsors: Contact each agency before enrolling.
      Obtain a cost estimate from the advisor and pay tuition to complete the enrollment process. The advisor will schedule courses once payment is verified.

    • Purchase Books & Supplies, as Needed
      Books and supplies are available at Salt Lake Community College bookstores on the South City, Jordan  and Taylorsville Redwood Campuses. Other sites may provide limited bookstore services.
      Payment for books and supplies are made directly to the bookstore. (Costs listed for books and supplies are estimates and are subject to change without notice.)

    • Attend or View Orientation as Appropriate
      The Applied Technology (AT) Orientation gives an overview of AT policies and procedures and walks students through creating their MyPage login and printing their attendance schedules.  The printed schedule needs to be presented to the instructor as a "ticket" into the classroom.  Orientations are scheduled weekly at South City Campus:

    • Parking Permit or Bus Pass
      Purchase parking permit or bus pass at South City Campus, Jordan Campus or Taylorsville Redwood Campus, AD 150. Parking permits may also be purchased at Meadowbrook Campus, main reception desk in Building B.
      • Annual permit:    $35.00
      • Semester permit: $17.50
      • Monthly permit:    $5.00
      • Weekly permit:    $3.00
      • Day permit:    $1.00
      Reduced fee bus pass available on a monthly or semester basis.

    • Attend First Day of Class as Scheduled
      The printed class schedule is required for entry into the classroom.
