English As A Second Language (KESL)

The School of Applied Technology offers four levels of ESL instruction leading to vocational training or college level classes. A placement test is given to determine the level at which a student should begin. Placement tests are arranged at the time students seek to register for the program. ESL classes include intensive academic English practice in reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

The mission of the English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at Salt Lake Community College is to improve students' English language skills which will help them successfully develop personally, professionally and academically at Salt Lake Community College.
