Get engaged in your community through service-learning courses! In service-leaning classes, you not only learn course content but you also get to see firsthand how it applies in the real world. Gain practical experience and develop your resume. Build your networks and develop important connections while also working toward your degree or certificate. Get involved in issues you care about!

Examples of include:

  • Promoting literacy in afterschool programs.
  • Working with a non-profit community partner or governmental group to identify potential research topics.
  • Participate in local advocacy efforts focused on important social causes.

Service-Learning Student Project Fund Request for Proposal

The Service-Learning Student Project Fund (SLSPF) is designated for students enrolled in designated service-learning classes and select other programs, as managed by the Thayne Center for Service & Learning. These students may request funding to offset costs directly related to their service-learning projects. For questions, contact Matt Elnour, Engaged Learning Specialist.

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of service-learning students and student leaders across the college. The showcase will highlight service-learning and ePortfolio projects. Enjoy food, coffee, fun, and an exciting program that explores stories about service. Selected students will receive a tuition waiver for the spring 2018 semester!
