Low Voltage Technician Apprenticeship
Low voltage (LV) electrical systems field specialization includes video and audio media, life safety (access control, burglar and fire alarms, and video surveillance), communications (telephone, modem computer networks, paging), and environmental controls (HVAC and energy management). Apprentices will ‘learn and earn’ while developing critical industry skills and achieving industry certifications.

Requirements
All entering students must demonstrate competence for placement into MATH 1010 by scoring 40 or higher on the algebra portion of the mathematics College Placement Test or proper CASAS Placement Test or provide a transcript showing a grade of C or higher in MATH 0990 or equivalent or complete ELI 1470 (Math for the Trades) with a grade of C or higher.
In addition, placement into KESL 0225 Intermediate I Reading/Writing or instructor approval.

COURSE/PROGRAM DELIVERY MODEL
While enrolled in the Low Voltage Technician Apprenticeship program, apprentices will earn wages from their employers during business hours, gain on-the-job learning and job-related classroom instruction, work under a mentor in the work setting, and achieve nationally recognized credentials.
Job-related classroom instruction includes in-person lectures and lab experience, meeting two nights a week in the evenings.
