SkillSoft is the provider of the most extensive e-learning catalog in the industry. It has the world's largest library of Business Skills courses, and over 4,800 hours of IT and Desktop courseware containing five critical technology subject areas that are continuously revised to keep up with the constantly changing requirements of various professional certifications. SkillSoft's Business Skills course library includes technology enabled Skill Simulations which place you in an authentic business or professional situation.
Courses are available 24 hours a day from home, the office, or anywhere with an internet connection to all Salt Lake Community College Full-time, Part-time and Work Study Staff.

Discuss with your supervisor your goals and make arrangements for released time to complete the training courses. It is recommended that four hours per month be devoted to released time for training, such as: Required Training, In-person Training Workshops, SkillSoft, etc.

Create a SkillSoft Account by clicking here. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you within 5 business days, providing you with your username and password to access the SkillSoft Portal at http://slcc.skillport.com

Review the Professional Development Certification Tracks. The "Red Track, Core Requirements" is recommended to be completed first, since it is the core requirements for all SLCC Staff.
*The Color Tracks are a resource to help you achieve your Professional Development Goals. However, you may complete courses that are not within a track.
Reference the SkillSoft - Getting Started Packet for more information on resources available to you through SkillSoft and Staff Development.

SkillSoft eLearning Courses must be completed with an overall completion score of 70% or better.

Upon completion of a track, complete the "Online" Track Completion Form found on the Staff Development SharePoint Site by clicking here. *If you started a track prior to November 2006, you will also need to submit a copy of your completed tracking form in addition to completing the online form and send it through campus mail to Tina Harward at Mail Stop: HR.
Successful completion of a COLOR Track entitles you to a Certificate of Completion along with a $10 Gift Card of your choosing to either the Bookstore, Cosmetology, Food Services, Grand Theater or Health & Wellness.
