What is Salt Lake Community College? We all know SLCC as an accredited, multi-campus institution of higher education serving the diverse needs of a growing and changing community. But SLCC is so much more than a collection of campuses and buildings. It’s more than classrooms, computers, courses and programs, projects and grades. Salt Lake Community College is people—students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, parents and guardians, community members and volunteers—each with their own unique story to tell about how the College has shaped their lives. In celebration of the Inauguration of Dr. Cynthia A. Bioteau as SLCC’s seventh President, we’re launching the SLCC Stories Project, a year-long initiative to collect individual stories that reflect the “real SLCC.” Each story will be preserved in digital form in the SLCC Stories Project Archive housed at the Markosian Library on Redwood Campus. As the SLCC Stories Project archive grows, each individual narrative will find its place among the stories of the thousands who have found something special at SLCC. Taken as a whole, we hope these stories will become nothing less than an oral history of our institution. Tell Your SLCC StoryHelp us celebrate SLCC’s unique role in our community and in our lives. Tell your SLCC story now in one of these convenient ways:
Be sure to set the stage for your story. Tell us your name and your connection with the College (former student, employee, etc.) In addition to being included in the SLCC Story Archive, all submitted stories may be used, along with the story teller’s first name, in College publications, websites or other promotional materials. Your last name will not be used without your express written approval. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone outside the SLCC. |
