Castle Worldwide

Castle Worldwide provides testing and training design, development, and delivery services to certification and licensure organizations, corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, and trade and professional associations.

Pearson Vue

Pearson VUE is a leader in computer-based testing for industries that require secure testing environments.

DSST (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests)

The nationally recognized DSST Program may help you receive college credits for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom.

The National Police Officer Selection Test (POST)

The NPOST has four separately timed sections. The first three — math, reading comprehension, and grammar — use multiple-choice and true/false formats. The fourth section, incident report writing, requires you to write answers in complete sentences. The test takes about 1.5 hours and cost $30.

Prior knowledge of law or law enforcement is not necessary to answer the questions. You can practice by reviewing the study guide and sample questions and this study guide PDF.

Accomodated Testing

Testing Services provides reasonable accommodations as authorized by your Accessibility Advisor, to ensure equal access on tests and exams. If you have questions related to your testing accommodations, please contact the DRC office on your campus.

Student Responsibilities

  • Renew DRC accommodations each semester.
  • Schedule your test at least 2 days prior to testing (follow instructions below).
  • Let your instructor know that they can email the test to the testing center (workforce@slcc.edu)

Scheduling ACCOMMODATED Testing at Miller

  1. Please call 801-957-5221 to schedule a seat for testing at least 2 days in advance of test date.
  2. At your scheduled time check-in with a valid picture ID in room MFEC 238 to take the test.
  3. Testing room will be determined by availability.

Instructor Responsibilities

Deliver test to the Miller Testing Center (MFEC 238) at least 2 days prior to scheduled test time, or email test workforce@slcc.edu.

Completed exams can be picked up during regular business hours in MFEC 238.

Testing Center Rules*

Testing Services complies with all relevant high-stakes testing regulations.

Universal Requirements:

  • Current, valid, government issued picture ID required on all exams
  • No children allowed in assessment area or left unattended at the center
  • Food, drink, cell phones or electronic devices are NOT allowed in testing suites, unless part of a College-approved testing accommodation.
