and other astonishing revelations, rumors,
and vital insider observations about creative careers.

Nathan Y. Jarvis is a Utah-born, nationally known, award-winning illustrator, designer, storyteller, art and ski teacher

Jarvis graduated from Art Center College of Design (BFA with honors) in 1983. Prior to Art Center he also managed to spend
a few years at USU, BYU and the U of U — thereby making it possible to simultaneously celebrate and suffer at any number
of local sporting events.

A short list of his clients includes: The New York Times, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, General Mills, Oxford University Press, Sesame Street/CTW, Target, BBDO, National Geographic Learning, Highlights for Children, McGraw-Hill, Harper Collins, Primary Children’s Medical Center, Canyons Resort, and FedEx.

Nathan served as the President of the Kansas City Art Directors Club as well as on the Kansas City Chapter AIGA board, worked for Hallmark Cards as an artist, art director and trainer, had his art displayed in the Society of Illustrators in NYC, and has been published in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual.

He’s taught art to students from grade 1 through college seniors at Central Missouri State University, Avila University, Park City School District, and is a professional ski instructor at The Canyons. He founded Jarvis & Associates LLC, Creative Services, in 1985—where he still spends much of his time and earns
most of his moolah.

Nathan’s career has been focused on (1) Helping kids—and adults who act like them—to laugh and learn, and (2) Helping a wide range of clients communicate clearly, quickly and memorably.
