You will learn everything you need to know to pass the State of Utah's online notary exam. Your instructor will go over all aspects of being a Notary and provide a training manual that you can keep for future reference.

Why should you become a Utah Notary Public? Notaries witness and authenticate the signing of our most important documents and transactions, such as mortgages, powers of attorney, contracts, adoption papers, advance medical directives, and other transactions in our everyday lives.
Millions of Americans serve as Notaries Public to protect consumers from fraud and identity theft. The demand is high as notaries serve businesses, industries, and private individuals. The ratio of notaries to citizens continues to rise as more businesses utilize notarial services to verify and sign legal documents. There is one Notary Public for every 75 US citizens.
Becoming a Utah Notary Public is a great way to improve your resume and career opportunities, earn a little extra income, and serve in your community.

WTNT 0001 Utah Notary Training Workshop
The live instructor Utah Notary Public Training Workshop is a one-time, five-hour workshop to prepare learners for the State’s Utah Notary Public training online exam. It is taught several times per year, about once per quarter. The workshop is recommended for all Utah residents who want to become a licensed Notary Public and for existing notaries who need to renew their licenses. The fee includes a training manual. Cost: $60 per person
Call Enrollment Services at 801-957-5200. Registration cut-off is 24 hours prior to workshop. Payment must be submitted at the time you enroll. A confirmation will be sent, and you will be notified via email if the class is canceled, which happens if there are less than five students.
For late registration, please contact mykel.Severson@slcc.edu or call 801-957-5407 to get your name on the class roster (no guarantee). If late registration is confirmed, you must call Enrollment Services immediately to register and submit your payment.
Candidates who want to become Notaries must:
- Be a permanent Utah resident 18 years or older
- Complete a workshop (recommended, but not required)
- Apply to the State of Utah to become a Notary and register for the required online test
- Pass the online test with 61 or higher (out of 65)
- Obtain a $5,000 bond
- Purchase an approved Notary stamp once Notary Commission has been received.
