Rick leads a talented group of workforce professionals that will assess and assist your team with technical, leadership, soft skills needs or create custom training solutions. Companies in any industry can grow and prosper through comprehensive workforce training and educational offerings.

He started the Division of Workforce & Economic Development at SLCC in 2015 after serving as the Dean of Technical Specialties. Rick has been with the College since 1999 in roles that have been focused on enhancing area businesses, governmental entities and community outreach. “Collaboration is the on-ramp to innovation!”

Jennifer Saunders

Jennifer Saunders

Associate Vice President, Workforce Training and Continuing Education

Responsibilities:

Program development and evaluation; personnel development; and strategic, continuous improvement for individual careers or businesses.

Jennifer leads a highly qualified team in delivering hundreds of noncredit and credit workforce education courses and programs. This team researches and validates training content, regularly developing and implementing new offerings, serving the training needs of both industry and the individual.

She has a Ph.D. in adult learning and couples this background with more than 25 years of professional experience in nonprofit, government and higher education sectors. Jennifer is in her 15th year at Salt Lake Community College.

Chuck Parker

Director, Workforce Training and Education

Responsibilities:

Creating custom training and education for your organization.

Chuck leads a team of workforce professionals that deliver custom training to fit your company’s needs, fill skill gaps and improve the quality of your organization. His team utilizes the Custom Fit Training Program, with funding from the State of Utah, to potentially help defray the cost of training and build out custom training to address your company’s needs.

Chuck started with SLCC Workforce in November 2016; prior to joining the team, Chuck led multiple sales teams in higher education and the student loan industry. He has spent his entire professional career in and around higher education, providing access that helps people improve their quality of life.

Mi Yon Hodges

Mi Yon Hodges

Assistant Director, Program and Course Development

Responsibilities:

Project management – program development and management – program advising.

Mi Yon leads the research, planning and implementation of new programs and oversees curriculum development within the division.

She has been with the College since 1999 and has a successful track record of launching, incubating and growing new programs to be sustainable, as well as managing grants.

Workforce Solutions Manager

Responsibilities:

Workforce training solutions for Energy, Manufacturing & Advanced Materials, Transportation, and Technical Trades sectors.

Bonnie works with industry on helping fill their employee pipeline, as well as current employee trainings, to build a better workforce.

She started in the Division of Workforce & Economic Development at SLCC in 2016 after serving as the Utah Aerospace Pathways Grant lead. Bonnie has been with the College since 2006 serving as a student Coordinator in Cosmetology & Barbering and a Completion Coordinator for the Department of Technical Specialties.

Uncover skill gaps in your workforce and develop training programs designed to enhance employee skills.

Diana matches companies and individuals with learning options designed to close identified skill gaps in the workforce. Her focus is to work with industries to solve training needs through a variety of custom training options and public training courses.

Diana started with SLCC Workforce in October 2017. Prior to joining SLCC she spent years in higher education developing solutions for skill training and talent development. Diana was a partner/business owner for many years and brings a unique understanding of the training needs of organizations.

Daniel Perusich

Workforce Manager

Responsibilities:

Engaging with business and industry leaders to identify workforce training solutions.

Dan works with companies and individuals to offer learning opportunities that lead to professional growth and employee retention. His goal is to ensure that all businesses and industries in the region have a skilled and talented workforce through a variety of custom and public training options.

Dan started with SLCC Workforce in May 2018. Prior to this, he served as an administrator at several different colleges, most recently as the Director of Continuing Education at Southwestern College in California.  Dan has a passion for working with nontraditional students to help identify and achieve educational goals.

Marketing Manager

Responsibilities:

Marketing strategy – advertising and branding – editing – social media – liaison to Institutional Marketing Communications.

Karah leads the unified marketing communications effort for the Division, helping to build and sustain the Workforce & Economic Development brand within the larger SLCC position strategy.

She joined SLCC Workforce in June 2017; prior to that, Karah served in roles of broad marketing communications responsibility with The University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson Independent School District (Texas) and the cities of Carrollton and Garland (Texas). Her focus on disciplined processes in marketing communications have led to numerous awards, including a 2017 Gold Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Region IV.

Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities:

General workforce inquiries - scheduling meetings.

Deborah supports Associate Vice President Rick Bouillon in the Division of Workforce & Economic Development. Deborah has worked with Rick for eight years, and has been with SLCC since 1996 in a variety of administrative assistant and secretarial roles.

Responsibilities:

Rosemary assists the marketing team in various ways as they support approximately 35 programs in the division.

She also assists in special events, meetings and general office support.
