Energy Accounting
The Energy Accounting Certificate of Achievement is awarded when you complete the Energy Investment Analysis and Energy Accounting courses with a C grade or better. You will learn to benchmark building energy use with spreadsheets and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. Utility rate schedules, weather adjustments, and life cycle cost analysis methods will be used to better inform financial decision making for potential energy-efficiency projects.
Course covers energy units, data gathering for energy accounting utility rates and schedules, energy data organization, adjusted baselines, cost avoidance, load factor, data analysis, and data presentation.

EGMT 1420 / CEEM 0420
Course focuses on how to determine whether an energy efficiency measure is an appropriate investment, and how to communicate the financial analysis of an energy project to various decision makers. Students will complete a presentation regarding benefits of a proposed energy efficiency investment.

The Energy Accounting Certificate consists of two courses, each course runs for 10 weeks. Please visit the Energy Management AAS Program Schedule to see when these classes are offered.
Once both courses are completed your certificate will be mailed to you at the address you provided at registration. Please contact the Program Manager if your address has changed. If you are seeking an Energy Management AAS degree, a certificate will not be issued unless you request one from the Program Manager.
