Faculty Experience

Teaching is always meaningful work, but now, access and affordability to higher education have become increasingly vital. As nearly half of the country's undergraduates are turning to community colleges, our work has never been more hopeful or more pressing. Join us as we continue to pursue meaningful, urgent and transformative work as teachers and scholars committed to change.

As a faculty member, you'll engage, support, and teach transfer and work skills to diverse groups of students with diverse sets of goals. You'll teach alongside other scholars who believe that diverse voices necessarily transform perspectives, lives and communities; and that together, their rich harmony leads to academic success and vitality for our students and for the college. We welcome and celebrate these voices belonging, but not limited to, people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, people with disabilities, and undocumented immigrants.

You'll also find leading-edge programming in place to support this belief, such as the Racial Equity in the Professoriate (REP) program, which fosters connection across veteran faculty members, new faculty and faculty of the global majority in the form of mentorship and monetary support as the college works to develop a connected faculty cohort and further embed racial equity at SLCC.  i-slcc-internal:onboarding/index
