Orientation & Transition

Through new student orientation, and other transition programming, our office will help you make a successful start at SLCC.

All first-time, first-year students must complete an orientation — that includes new students, former-concurrent students, and early high school graduate students. Returning and transfer students do not have to complete an orientation, but can register earlier for classes if they do so.

Bruin Bound offers students a unique opportunity to find their place at SLCC and prepare for the upcoming semester.

  • Meet with an academic advisor and career coach
  • Receive help selecting and registering for courses
  • Connect with staff and other students within your Area of Study
  • Learn about college expectations and campus resources
  • Acquire college success tips from current students
  • Special session for family members and friends

Bruin Bound sessions are offered at the following campuses: Taylorsville RedwoodSouth City, and Jordan.
