Applications for admission to the Pharmacy Technician program are accepted during open submission periods for spring and fall semesters. Please see the School of Health Sciences Application Submission Dates for current submission dates.

The Pharmacy Technician program accepts one cohort of 30 students every Spring and Fall semester.  Apply to SLCC and then click on the Apply to Pharmacy Technician Program link below and then the Apply Now link to apply for the program.

Apply for admission at SLCC (if you have not attended SLCC within the last three years). Declare your major as Pre-Medical & Health Sciences.

If Medical Terminology has been taken at a location other than SLCC, transcripts from that institution must be evaluated by the SLCC Transfer Evaluation Office.

Applicants must be admitted to SLCC, be at least 18 years old, and have a social security number to sit for the national certification exam required for Utah licensure.  Applicants must have taken and passed a math course equivalent or higher than Math 950 in the last 2 years or place in Math 980 taking a self-directed math placement screening. Applicants must have taken and passed an English course equivalent or higher than English 900 or place in English 990 taking a self-directed English placement screening.  Program course pre-requisites must be completed with a grade of C or better.  The Pharmacy Technician Training Program is a rolling admission program.  Once accepted, student will receive information regarding a mandatory program orientation.  Here they receive instructions to obtain a DOPL Pharmacy Technician Training License, 10 channel urine drug screen and required BCI background check prior to start of classes

Applications for admission are open January 11th - August 20th, 2021 for the Fall 2021 session. Applications for Spring 2022 will open August 30th, 2021.

You will be notified of your acceptance into the Pharmacy Technician program via your Bruinmail account. 



American Heart Association CPR training will be scheduled after classes start.  Once you have this 2-year certification, the program requires you to keep it current.  Prior to placement (3rd semester) you will receive instructions to set up a Complio Federal Background check. Prior to clinical placement, you will be required to submit documentation for proof of immunizations.  This will be discussed at the mandatory program orientation.
