The NCCT is an independent credentialing organization that tests healthcare professionals and instructors.

Exams

Each exam cost $90 if you finish your program within 6 months of testing or $135 within 5 years (please check their website for most up-to-date information).

Medical Assistant

• 165 questions
• 3-hour test

Medical Office Assistant

• 125 questions
• 3-hour test

Phlebotomy Technician

• 145 questions
• 2.5-hour test

Taking an exam

Visit NCCT > Select your exam > Select "Apply For Certification," complete the online application and pay the exam fee

  • Bring 2 forms of ID. One should be a government-issued photo (driver’s license, military ID, Passport, etc.).

Retest Policy

Candidates will now have four opportunities to take a single examination, but the waiting time between attempts has changed:

• After a failed 1st attempt - the candidate must wait 30 days before retesting.
• After a failed 2nd attempt - the candidate must wait 30 days before retesting.
• After a failed 3rd attempt - the candidate must wait 1 year before retesting.
